It was merely another day at Hogwarts, but on this day, Giovanna took it upon herself to go out to the lake and relax a little. Winter was over and now she had the chance to go outside if she wanted to get some fresh air. Sometimes it got very stuffy being stuck in the castle, especially in the dungeons, which had no windows. Giovanna was glad that she could escape the common room. She had never been a Library person, which was where a lot of people could go during the winter to stay inside, but Giovanna hated it. It was too quiet, tense and not at all the kind of place she would voluntarily hang out in.
Taking a light jacket because it still wasn't summer yet, Giovanna left the castle behind her and headed towards the dark lake. It was a Sunday, so Giovanna didn't have any classes at the moment or even later on in the day. She had the whole day to relax to herself, even though she probably wouldn't be doing that. Giovanna never relaxed. Even though she was pretty good at looking like she was relaxed, she was always ready for something to happen to her. Giovanna had learned that one could never expect what was to happen to them and they always had to be ready for whatever it was when it came.

Anne was bored of being in the castle, so she headed outside. She walked along the otherside of the lake and kicked some rocks in as she walked. She stopped for a min and picked a flat rock up and skitted it against the water. She smiled as it skitted far and hitt a gaint squid. She giggled and walked on. She had her wand out and was flicking it everywhere. Some bubbles came out a couple of times. She saw someone move ahead of her and saw a Slytherin girl. She walked up and to her to introduce herself. 'Hi, I'm Anne Logan. You may you be?' She asked.

As Giovanna stood there, staring across the lake, she noticed another girl near the shore as well. She looked to be quite idiotic, though. Throwing rocks at the giant squid was no smart choice. She rolled her eyes and continued to stare across the lake, not wanting to talk to the girl. However, when the girl approached Giovanna, she was forced to talk to her. Just her luck. The one time she wanted to 'relax', or more likely be alone, she didn't even get that. Yes, those were the dangers of venturing outside the Slytherin common room. Gryffindors were allowed outside as well, unfortunately.
"I'm Giovanna," she said without any enthusiasm. The girl in front of her definitely had too much enthusiasm than what was good for her. Giovanna knew that Gryffindors were brave, but some bravery was just pure foolishness. Being brave was one thing, but walking into one's doom was another. "You know, the giant squid isn't too friendly. I wouldn't suggest throwing something at it again." Giovanna didn't know why she was giving this girl advice, but she didn't want to have to help her in case she did land herself in trouble while Giovanna was around.

'Oh I didn't mean to hit it though, I just skitted a rock and I didn't see the squid.' Anne could tell the slytherin was a cunning little know it all, just from the sound of her voice. 'I could leave if you want alone time.' She offered. She picked up what looked like a ugly rock and closed her hand upon it. She opened it again and the ugly rock was a shiny ruby. She threw it to the ground.

[[I'm actually typing a lot less than I have in a very long time, lol.]]
[/center][/size] "Of course you didn't," Giovanna said sarcastically with a slight nod. She honestly couldn't care less if the girl had tried to hit the giant squid square in the eyes or not. Whether one meant to do something or not had no importance in the consequences of their actions. "I'm sure the giant squid would easily forgive you because it was an accident," Giovanna added. This girl was almost asking for every comment Giovanna threw and would throw at her. When she suggested leaving, though, Giovanna found that it was too good of an opportunity to be alone. She didn't trust this girl at all. Despite the fact that she clearly was not in Slytherin, she was annoying, naive and foolish, which were three things that Giovanna hated. "And why would you want to do that?" she asked her. Giovanna eyed her pick up something off the ground and then drop it again. It seemed a bit pointless in her opinion, but if it kept her entertained, she didn't see any harm in it. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Anne smirked. She could tell the girl hated her already. 'Well it looks as if you want to be alone.' She said. She looked down at the ruby that was now dust. She picked up a leaf and held it tight, and did not release it.

Giovanna wondered what the girl was smirking about now. Had Giovanna fallen for her little game? Giovanna didn't like mind games with people who didn't know what they were doing with them and she wanted it to end if there were any mind games going on to begin with. "Yes... I might. But that was clear since I first came out here and that didn't stop you from coming over here and introducing yourself." Giovanna watched Anne pick up the leaf, but this time she didn't let it go. She sure was strange and Giovanna knew that she would never understand, but at the same time, she didn't know if she wanted to know what went on in mind.

Anne could see she wasn't wanted. 'Well Friendly tis I am.' She said clearly not paying much attention to gio. She looked at the leaf and it was red. She watched it change to a blue color

"Clearly," Giovanna said as unenthusiastically as she had when she introduced herself only moments before. "But sometimes being too friendly can work against you," she commented. Clearly the girl wasn't paying attention to a word Giovanna said, but there was no use in trying to get her attention. She was too fascinated in the leave. Shifting her gaze into what was in Anne's hand, though, it looked like it was changing colour. "Why is it doing that?" Giovanna snapped. Surely Anne had to know why the leaf was doing that, or else why would she be trusting it in the palm of her hand?

Anne smirked at how she snapped that fast, 'Oh no reason.' She said closeing her hands. She looked at the lake.

Giovanna rolled her eyes at the girl. For being friendly, she sure knew how to pick and keep her secrets. It was just a leaf, what was so special about it? Now Giovanna started to wonder. Was it really just a random leaf that Anne had picked off the ground, or did it actually have something special about it? The girl clearly didn't trust Giovanna, or else she probably would have told her, since she was pretty open and friendly, but Giovanna didn't see why she would trust her. Giovanna didn't trust Anne. She barely even trusted herself with her own decisions. She never expected anyone else to trust her and she didn't see why Anne would be any different.
"I'm sure there is a reason, but no matter." Giovanna turned away from Anne and looked across the lake as well. If Anne was going to keep things to herself, Giovanna wasn't going to pry her. She really wasn't interested in the girl at all and would have rathered if she had stuck with hitting the giant squid with rocks rather than wander over to Giovanna. It might have even been entertaining to see the giant squid try to eat her, even though Giovanna would have to pretend not to see anything. But unfortunately, Anne had walked over to Giovanna and that was why Giovanna was stuck there with an annoying little Gryffindor standing beside her. If only a fellow Slytherin would walk by as well.. But Giovanna knew that the odds of that happening were very slim indeed.

Anne looked at the lake, she still had the leaf. She opened her hand and instead of the leaf a locket laid and it was a mood changer. She put it around her neck.

[[Yeah, neither do I. ]]
The lake truly was beautiful this time of night. The way the sun reflected upon the glassy water was almost intoxicating, but Giovanna would never let herself fall into the beauty of it too much. She had to keep her guard up, especially when she was standing near the edge of the lake with that Gryffindor. She couldn't be trusted. Everything about her was fishy and Giovanna had to keep her eye on her while she was around.
"What do you think you're doing?" Giovanna asked her sharply. One minute Anne had a leaf in her hand and the next it was a locket. Giovanna was trusting her less and less by the second. Obviously this girl had something off about her. How was she doing that? It was impossible, in Giovanna's opinion, especially for a first year. If she could change things in an instant without any verbal spell or a wand, Giovanna had to be wary of her. Unless, of course, all of the things she happened to pick up could change shape on their own, but that was even less probable. Giovanna had to know what was truly going on with this girl.

'I'm sorry I only tell my friends how I do this.' She smirked and held the locket close. She closed her eyes and smiled picturing her dead mother. Oh how much Anne missed her mother. Her mother had this specail thing about her that if she truly believed she could change anything ugly to pretty.

Alana decided she wanted some fresh air, she'd had enough of doing all of her homework inside the Library. She wondered as she walked down to the lake if anyone else would be there. She hadn't met anyone since starting at Hogwarts so was keen to start making friends. She waved her wand to make the leaves on the ground swirl around her. She reached the lake and sat down on the grass.
